A strange man walks in. An elegance in his soft step, lightly touching the ground he seemed to lithely hover towards me.
He was wearing an old
fashioned suit that certainly had seen better days. Might have even been
dazzling at a time and there was a strange quality about him. He seemed ageless
and the harder I tried to figure it out the more I drifted. He wore a top hat
and had a bushy black handlebar moustache, a long tailcoat jacket with a short
chest piece of the darkest of black colours that created an impression of the
void. A white shirt and a dark red bow tie meticulously well groomed and
matched to his whole attire. His eyes flickered like the stars and he had a
cool demeanour about him. He wore one small square spectacle shining gold in the
empty room. And just before greeting me he extracted from his pocket a golden
chain with nine small watch trinkets all famously decorated and each individual
watch was as completely different as the next. It would seem that he checked
the time but he took each watch into account and turned towards me.
‘’You are late.’’ I couldn’t
tell if he was angry or if there even was any emotion at all. I was taken aback,
my mind just shut off as insufficient energy coursed through my brain. I just
stood there taking nothing into account looking straight into his deep eyes. I
was a pillar, I could barely take my breaths in and mustering my last sanity I
asked.
‘’Who are you?’’ With probably
what was the most dumbfounded kind of looks I sat right in front of a man that
I had never seen in my life, inside a room that was utterly gloomy and dreadful
and the only words that my brain could generate and my mouth could utter were
just those words. I needed a full explanation. My sanity required it.
‘’I
am Rodriguez but my name is not of any importance’’ He briskly combed his moustache.
‘’I
am the butler.’’ Welcome to our humble home.’’ A small bow was his only
movement.
‘’Where
am I?’’ Suddenly my mind fast triggered while my heart quickened.
‘’Venegaria
Hotel.’’ ‘’Where roses bloom’’
‘’How
did I get here?’’ My heart leaping.
‘’I
do not know. I can just show you around.’’ A small smile surfaced.
My head was about to blow. I was lost and it seemed I was
at the edge of unreal. Just as I was about to burst into rage, he extracted his
chain again, his square spectacle a mirror of my soul. He took each trinket
observing it individually and making slight facial expressions some more
serious than others.
‘’It’s
time’’ He was commanding me. I don’t know what made my mind to listen to him
and follow him outside of the door, to the unknown but something crept up to my
brain, tearing my soul, unblocking my mind.
